What To Know About Plastic Surgery And Cosmetic Procedures

Is There Pain During Or After The Procedure? Are There Side Effects Or Down Time?

CoolSculpting has no down time! It is safe and completely non-invasive which allows immediate return to work, exercise and other normal activities. Although there may be some minor discomfort during the first 10 minutes as the fat is drawn into the applicator and cooled, no pain medication or anesthetic is needed. The procedure is comfortable enough to read, work on a laptop, listen to music with headphones or take a nap during the procedure. Afterwards patients experience redness which usually lasts minutes to hours. Some patients may experience bruising and/or tenderness, cramping and/or itching for 1 to 2 weeks and a temporary dulling of sensation for 1 or more weeks.

What Happens If I Gain Weight In The Future?

At each treatment, you will receive multiple small injections under your chin into the fat layer below the skin. The exact number of injections will depend on the amount of fat you have under your chin and your desired profile. After the injection is complete, the area is cleaned and a cold compress is applied to minimize swelling. Patient may continue to apply cold compresses every 2 hours for 15-20 minutes at a time during the first day.

Botox is injected beneath the skin’s surface to target the underlying muscle activity which is one of the causes of moderate to severe lines between the brows, forehead and crow’s feet. BOTOX® Cosmetic temporarily reduces the activity of those muscles resulting in improved lines between the brows, forehead and Crow’s feet.
  • JUVÉDERM® XC is typically used to treat “Static Wrinkles”, which develop because our skin’s natural substances (such as collagen and hyaluronic acid), which provide structure and volume, decrease over time.
